Our indoor play barn is available for private hire — perfect for owners, trainers, and dog walkers looking for a secure space to exercise or train dogs.

Please note, the car park is shared with other visitors and open to the road, so dogs must stay on lead at all times until safely inside the barn.

Drive slowly when approaching Hounds Retreat. The access lane is shared with our neighbours, farm vehicles (including tractors), and wildlife. The road is not lit during darker months, so extra care is required.

Please respect that the house on site is a private residence and not part of the dog barn.

The daycare and boarding facility, including clients’ dogs and outdoor paddocks, is off-limits to all visitors.

Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your session and leave promptly at the end of your slot.

All dogs must be fully vaccinated & treated for fleas ticks and worms

Dogs in season are not permitted

If your dog has received the kennel cough vaccine, a 7 day waiting period is required before using the barn

Dogs must be 12 months .Puppies are not permitted under any circumstances

XL Bullies are not permitted due to insurance restrictions.

Do not attend if your dog has had vomiting or diarrhoea within the last 48 hours

Use of the facility is entirely at your own risk

You are responsible for yourself, your dog(s), children, and any guests

We accept no liability for injury, illness, loss, or damage on site or in the car park

Hounds Retreat is a working small business with dogs onsite(daycare, boarding) , including nervous, rescue, senior and reactive dogs.
Be mindful of your surroundings and considerate of others at all times.

Q: Do you have parking on site?
A: Yes, we have on-site parking for barn users.
Please note, the car park is shared with other visitors and open to the road, so dogs must stay on lead at all times until safely inside the barn.
Q: What type of surface is in the barn?
A: Astro turf
Q: Are their stairs to the entrance?
A: Yes their are steps leading up to the entrance of the barn, Please mind your step
Q: Is the barn heated or lit?
A: The barn is fully covered and floodlit, making it suitable for use in all weather and throughout the year. It is not heated, so please dress appropriately in colder months.
Q: Are toilets available on site?
A: No, there are no toilet facilities on site at the moment.
Q: Do you sell treats or other items?
A: Yes, we have a honesty box on site where you can buy treats. (Cash or QR code)
Q: Do you allow trainers or dog walkers to use the space?
A: Please contact us to discuss availability, rates, and any specific requirements. Professional trainers and dog walkers are very welcome to book and use the barn. Proof of insurance and up-to-date vaccinations for all client dogs are required.
Q: Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?
A: No cancellations or refunds
Q: What happens if I’m late?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot extend your session if you arrive late, as other users may have booked the next slot. Please arrive a few minutes early to make the most of your time.
Q: Do you provide water and poo bags?
A: Yes, we provide fresh water and poo bags on site. Please remember to bring your own bowls for your dogs.
