At Hounds Retreat, we understand that not every dog enjoys group play.

We provide non-group play dog daycare, focusing on individualised care

Each day is a blend of enrichment, play, and rest. Your dog can relax in their private cabin between activities, ensuring a calm balance of stimulation and downtime.

Every day is shaped around your dog’s needs, allowing them to thrive at their own pace, in their own way.

Perfect For:

Dogs who thrive with one-on-one care, away from group pressure
Shy, nervous, or anxious dogs needing to build resilience
Ex-racing greyhounds and recently adopted dogs adjusting to new lives
Senior dogs who prefer a slower pace

Overnight Boarding

At Hounds Retreat, we know that every dog is unique, especially when it comes to rest, routine, and comfort away from home.

Before overnight boarding, every dog attends a Meet & Greet to help us get to know them better and ensure Hounds Retreat is the right environment for your dog.

We may suggest trial visits — a day or an overnight stay — to help your dog feel settled and confident before their full stay

Each room includes heating, fans for summer, temperature sensors, cameras, and calming music for afternoon snoozes.

What’s Included in Your Dog’s Day

Enrichment Session

Tailoring their day, their way from one to one enrichment activites, scent games, off lead playtime, sensory garden and more.

Brand-new cosy indoor enrichment area.

Designed to let dogs do what comes naturally: sniff, explore, build confidence and of course have fun!

Cabin

We have private rooms and two paddocks. Every dog gets their own quiet cabin, complete with cosy beds, blankets & indoor enrichment. We set up each room to your dogs needs from extra blankets, toys, memory foam beds, rugs, & raised water bowl stands. Proper rest helps dogs feel calm, recover & prevents overstimulation.

Extra Comfort

We only use positive reinforcement techniques, paired with all-natural treats to keep your dog motivated and happy. On rainy days, we may provide raincoats to keep them dry and comfortable. Before heading home, we offer a quick brush-through to help your dog feel their best.

On Site Kitchen

We’re happy to give your dog’s regular food during their stay—just bring it along! We can offer it in a kong, bowl, or slow feeder.

Medication

We’ll administer medications and supplements according to your instructions for free.*please note we cannot administer injections

Paw Care

After muddy days, we wash and towel-dry paws .For hounds with corns we offer paw soaks and cosy socks and paw balm.

Daily Updates

We’ll send you a daily update by text or email, so you always know how your dog’s day went.

Please Note

To keep all our dogs safe, happy, and healthy, we kindly ask that all dog attending meet the following requirements:

Up-to-date vaccinations are required.
If your dog has had to restart their vaccinations for any reason (primary vaccination course), please get in touch with us before booking, as there may be a waiting period before they can attend.
Kennel Cough (Bordetella) vaccination is strongly recommended, but not mandatory. Please note there is a 14 day waiting period after receiving Kennel cough vaccination.
Proof of vaccination will be requested before your dog's first visit.

Dogs must be on regular parasite control for:
- Fleas
- Ticks
- Worms

Dogs must be over 12 months old
Dogs in season cannot attend
